Felony drug trafficker Eric Gerome Clancy, 38, of Pittsburgh, has been sentenced to six years in federal prison, followed by five years of supervised release. The sentence was imposed by Chief United States District Judge Mark R. Hornak after Clancy’s conviction for violating federal narcotics laws.
Clancy’s fall from grace began on May 15, 2024, when he was stopped for traffic violations in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania. During a subsequent search of his vehicle, police uncovered nine bricks containing a deadly mixture of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and xylazine. Officers also seized several ounces of crack and powder cocaine, a scale, and a significant amount of U.S. currency from Clancy.
At the time of the offense, Clancy was already on federal supervised release following a previous 90-month sentence for drug trafficking and firearms convictions. The gravity of his actions led to the harsh sentence imposed by Judge Hornak.
The investigation leading to Clancy’s conviction was a collaborative effort between the Mt. Lebanon Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA). Assistant United States Attorney V. Joseph Sonson prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
Acting United States Attorney Troy Rivetti commended both law enforcement agencies for their work in bringing Clancy to justice, highlighting the successful prosecution as a testament to their commitment to fighting drug trafficking in the community.
