Garriton Jones, Heroin Distribution Conspiracy, Pennsylvania 2023

A Pittsburgh heroin dealer has been sentenced to 96 months in federal prison for his role in conspiring to distribute the deadly opioid.

Garriton Jones, 38, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Nora Barry Fischer for his involvement in the heroin distribution conspiracy.

According to Acting United States Attorney Soo C. Song, Jones’s sentence is a result of a multi-agency investigation led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.

The investigation, which was funded by the federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Program (OCDETF), involved a number of law enforcement agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement/Homeland Security Investigations, the United States Marshals Service, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Scott Township Police Department, the Munhall Police Department, the Baldwin Police Department, and the Pleasant Hills Police Department.

Assistant United States Attorneys Rachael L. Dizard and Craig W. Haller prosecuted the case on behalf of the United States.

When released from prison, Jones will serve three years of supervised release.

This case is a stark reminder of the devastating impact of heroin on our communities. We will continue to work tirelessly to disrupt and dismantle the networks of individuals and organizations responsible for the distribution of this deadly drug.
