A Pittsburgh man, Justin Hughes, 45, was caught sending explicit child videos to an Ohio recipient via email. The Federal Bureau of Investigation tracked down the emails and linked them to Hughes’ registered sex offender account in Pennsylvania.
Hughes had a prior conviction for sexual abuse in 2007. On April 2, 2026, he was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison, followed by 10 years of supervision and ordered to pay restitution to a victim.
Assistant U.S. Attorney Nicole A. Stockey prosecuted the case, with U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti commending the FBI for their investigation.
Child sexual abuse material is a serious crime, causing irreparable harm to its victims. Judge Mark R. Hornak acknowledged the gravity of the offense, requiring a severe sentence.
