Trevor Uhls, Ponzi Scheme, Missouri 2026

⏱ 2 min read

A 29-year-old Lee’s Summit man, Trevor Uhls, is accused of running a Ponzi scheme that defrauded over $2.1 million from individual investors in Missouri. The alleged scheme involved promising investors a 10-15% return on their principal investment after 30, 60, or 90 days through promissory note contracts. However, investors reportedly received only a few interest payments, if any, and many were unable to recover their principal investment or accrued interest.

Uhls allegedly misappropriated investor funds for his personal benefit, resulting in substantial financial losses for his victims. The scheme is said to have been ongoing, with the exact duration unknown. A temporary restraining order has been granted against Uhls, and an injunction hearing is scheduled for August 3, 2026.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John Constance and investigated by the Internal Revenue Service-Criminal Investigations (IRS-CI). This is one of many federal fraud cases pursued under the leadership of President Donald Trump and the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud.

The allegations against Uhls are serious, and the government will need to present evidence to support the claims in order to determine civil or criminal liability. The National Fraud Enforcement Division, established by the Department of Justice, is focused on investigating and prosecuting those who commit fraud against the American people.
