Quad Cities Drug Kingpin Sentenced to 126 Months

DAVENPORT, Iowa – The grim saga of Trevon Demon Horne, 23, a Quad Cities drug kingpin, reached its somber climax on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, as the federal bench sentenced him to 126 months in prison for his heinous crimes.

Horne was nabbed by the Davenport Police Department after a no-holds-barred search warrant led to a bounty of contraband. Inside Horne’s residence, law enforcement uncovered approximately a pound of potent marijuana, digital scales designed for precise drug transactions, and hard-earned currency. But the revelation that sent shockwaves through the courtroom was the discovery of a Glock .45 caliber firearm with an auto-sear switch, converting it into a deadly machinegun.

Horne’s admission to selling marijuana and using the firearm to further his drug trafficking enterprise painted a picture of a man who thought he could walk on the dark side without consequence. His brazenness came crashing down as he was ordered to serve his sentence behind bars before facing supervised release upon his release, with no parole in sight.

The gravity of Horne’s actions was underscored by the involvement of the United States Attorney Richard D. Westphal, who announced the sentencing. The investigation into Horne’s criminal activities was spearheaded by the tenacious efforts of the Davenport Police Department.

This case is a stark reminder that Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) is more than just words—it’s action. Launched on May 26, 2021, PSN represents a unified front against violent crime and gun violence, aiming to restore safety and trust in our communities. The program focuses on fostering community relationships, supporting local initiatives, and strategically enforcing the law to ensure that neighborhoods are safe for all.
