Rachel L. Stewart, Marijuana Distribution Conspiracy and Straw Purchase of Firearms, Nebraska 2023

A 30-month prison sentence has been handed down to Rachel L. Stewart, a 33-year-old woman from Omaha, Nebraska, for her role in a marijuana distribution conspiracy and straw purchase of firearms.

According to court documents, Stewart conspired with others to distribute at least 80 kilograms but less than 100 kilograms of marijuana between approximately May 2019 and October 2021.

In addition to the marijuana distribution charges, Stewart was also found guilty of making false statements during the purchase of three handguns for a confederate between August 2020 and March 2021.

U.S. Attorney Steven Russell announced the sentencing, which was handed down by Chief U.S. District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. on March 16, 2023.

As part of her sentence, Stewart will serve 30 months in prison, followed by a three-year term of supervised release. It’s worth noting that there is no parole in the federal system.

The government also seized $6,310 in cash, a gold Rolex watch, a diamond-encrusted necklace, and a 2019 Audi Q8 vehicle, which were deemed proceeds of drug trafficking.

The case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Omaha Police Department.
