Randy Cross Charged with Federal Narcotics Violation
A Pittsburgh man is facing serious charges after a federal grand jury indicted him for violating federal narcotics laws. According to the indictment, Randy Cross, 38, was found to be in possession of a mixture containing heroin and fentanyl on March 10, 2021.
Acting United States Attorney Stephen R. Kaufman announced the indictment, which names Cross as the sole defendant. The law provides for a maximum total sentence of not more than 20 years in prison, a fine of $1,000,000 or both. The actual sentence imposed would be based upon the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
Assistant United States Attorney Jonathan D. Lusty is prosecuting this case on behalf of the government. The investigation was led by the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police.
An indictment is an accusation, and Cross is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. The case is a stark reminder of the ongoing struggle against narcotics trafficking in our city.
The indictment was the result of a thorough investigation by law enforcement agencies. The DEA and the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police worked tirelessly to bring Cross to justice.
As the community continues to grapple with the effects of narcotics trafficking, this case serves as a reminder of the need for continued vigilance and cooperation between law enforcement and the public.
The case is ongoing, and we will continue to follow it and provide updates as more information becomes available.
