Rapid City Man Sentenced For Assaulting Feds

In a shocking turn of events, Sidney Lightning Fire, a 30-year-old Rapid City man, was sentenced to 13 months in custody for assaulting two Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe Law Enforcement Officers in July of 2012.

According to officials, Lightning Fire resisted arrest and assaulted the officers, leading to a federal indictment on October 16, 2012. He later pled guilty to Assaulting, Resisting, or Impeding a Federal Officer on March 13, 2013.
