Youngstown’s Christopher Helmick, a 41-year-old local, is slouching behind bars for a stunning 23 years. The man was caught with over 2,700 images and videos of children being sexually exploited right in our backyard. This sicko used social media to trade child porn and manipulated minors into sending him nude photos. The FBI and Mahoning Valley’s Human Trafficking Task Force were instrumental in putting this predator away. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer J. King led the prosecution, which was part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide fight against child exploitation.
