Rasheena Romegan Carter, Armed Robbery Concealment, Mississippi 2019

A Jackson woman has been sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison for concealing information about an armed robbery that occurred in the city.

According to court documents, Rasheena Romegan Carter, 33, drove the armed bandit from the scene of the crime and concealed him from law enforcement.

The crime took place on August 21, 2018 at a business in Jackson.

Carter’s actions went against federal law, which states that it is a felony to fail to notify authorities about a felony crime and to affirmatively act to conceal information about that crime.

The FBI and the Jackson Police Department investigated the case, which is being prosecuted as part of the joint federal, state, and local Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program.

Assistant U.S. Attorneys Andrew W. Eichner and Charles W. Kirkham prosecuted the case.

PSN is an evidence-based program designed to reduce violent crime, and through this strategy, enforcement efforts focus on the most violent offenders and partner with locally based prevention and reentry programs for lasting reductions in crime.
