A Local Man Faces Justice for Heroin Distribution
In a move to crack down on heroin distribution in Buffalo, New York, Raul Matos, 49, of Buffalo, NY, pleaded guilty to distributing heroin. This conviction comes after a thorough investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Adam S. Cohen, Special Agent in Charge, Buffalo Division.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorney Frank T. Pimentel, who is handling the case, Matos sold heroin to an individual in Buffalo on three separate occasions in June and July 2014. This illicit activity has serious consequences for our community, and we are glad to see Matos held accountable.
The charge of distributing heroin carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a $1,000,000 fine. Sentencing is scheduled for January 13, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. before U.S. District Judge Elizabeth A. Wolford.
