A brazen act of thievery shook the streets of Wichita, Kansas, as Rayquan Hill, 19, pleaded guilty to committing a liquor store robbery.
The heist took place at F & K Liquor, located at 902 S. Woodlawn in Wichita, where Hill and his accomplice, Jamaryus Moore, 20, attempted to get away with the goods.
However, their plan was short-lived as a store clerk shot Hill in the leg during the robbery, bringing the perpetrators to their knees.
Hill was promptly arrested at the scene, while his co-defendant, Moore, was apprehended later that day at work.
U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister commended the Wichita Police Department, the FBI, and Assistant U.S. Attorney Aaron Smith for their tireless efforts in bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Hill’s plea agreement comes with a hefty price tag, as he faces a penalty of up to 20 years in federal prison and a fine of up to $250,000. His sentencing is scheduled for August 5.
Moore, the co-defendant, is still awaiting sentencing, but it’s clear that both men will face the full weight of the law for their crimes.
The people of Wichita can rest a little easier knowing that justice has been served, and those responsible for this brazen act of thievery will be held accountable.
