Reginald Lowe, Meth Trafficking, Warner Robins GA, 2022

MACON, Ga. – Reginald Lowe, 41, of Warner Robins, is facing two decades behind bars after being sentenced for his involvement in a significant methamphetamine trafficking ring that flooded Middle Georgia with at least 16 kilograms of the deadly drug. Lowe, already serving time for aggravated assault in Houston County, received an additional 240 months in federal prison and four years of supervised release following a guilty plea on August 30 to conspiracy to possess methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

The case, spearheaded by the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF), revealed a sophisticated operation run by co-defendant Ontarrio Veal, aka Torrie, 32, of Warner Robins. From January to June 2020, DEA agents and Warner Robins Police Department officers meticulously tracked Veal’s drug deals, intercepting phone calls and text messages that laid bare the scope of the operation. Lowe was identified as a key player, traveling to Atlanta with Veal to procure large quantities of methamphetamine for distribution.

The bust came June 1st when Veal was caught returning from Atlanta with three kilograms of meth and a Glock .40 caliber semi-automatic pistol equipped with a high-capacity 50-round drum magazine. Subsequent searches of multiple locations in Middle Georgia yielded a staggering haul: numerous firearms, ammunition, over $100,000 in cash, and more methamphetamine. U.S. District Judge Tilman E. “Tripp” Self, III delivered the sentence to Lowe on December 6, emphasizing that there is no parole in the federal system.

“Armed and violent repeat offenders threaten the safety of our region and must be held accountable,” stated U.S. Attorney Peter D. Leary. The OCDETF investigation underscores a focused effort to dismantle dangerous criminal organizations operating within the Middle District of Georgia. Robert J. Murphy, Special Agent in Charge of the DEA Atlanta Field Division, hailed the outcome as a “fatal blow” to the meth ring, promising increased safety for communities like Warner Robins.

ATF Assistant Special Agent in Charge Beau Kolodka emphasized the importance of the OCDETF partnership in removing armed criminals and narcotics traffickers from the streets. Warner Robins Police Chief Wayne Fisher echoed this sentiment, praising the collaboration between local, state, and federal agencies. “It is through such partnerships that impacts such as these can be realized,” Fisher stated, highlighting the dedication of the task force members.

While Lowe faces 20 years, Veal, the alleged ringleader, could receive up to 40 years in prison. The investigation remains ongoing, with authorities continuing to untangle the full network of associates and suppliers connected to this prolific Middle Georgia drug operation. The seizure of over $100,000 in cash suggests a highly profitable enterprise that fueled addiction and violence within the region.
