SPokane, Washington – In a scathing blow to the realm of online child exploitation, Jonathan Ray Stocker, 44, from Sprague, WA, has been sentenced to a decade behind bars for possessing graphic material depicting the sexual abuse of children. United States Attorney Richard R. Barker announced the tough sentence imposed by U.S. District Judge Thomas O. Rice, who also mandated lifetime supervised release and ordered $45,000 in restitution to the victims.
On July 1, 2023, Lincoln County law enforcement was alerted to Stocker’s depraved activities following a tip from a concerned third party. A subsequent search warrant executed at his residence on September 1, 2023, yielded over 9,000 images and 184 videos of minors under the age of 12 being subjected to sexual abuse.
Stocker’s past is no stranger to such offenses; he has previously faced federal charges for Possession of Child Pornography. In 2012, his first conviction landed him a 48-month sentence and five years of supervised release. Yet, this repeat offender’s latest transgression reflects the relentless nature of his criminal behavior.
‘The United States Attorney’s Office remains committed to holding accountable those who sexually abuse and exploit children,’ said Acting United States Attorney Barker. ‘Mr. Stocker’s prior conviction did not deter his conduct, and today’s sentence – along with lifetime supervision – is necessary to protect our communities in Eastern Washington.’
This case is part of Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in 2006 to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. The nationwide effort led by U.S. Attorneys’ Offices has been instrumental in apprehending and prosecuting Internet predators.
The investigation into Stocker was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, with prosecution handled by Assistant United States Attorney Ann T. Wick. Case number: 2:24-cr-00054-TOR
