An Omaha man has been sentenced to 57 months in federal prison for possessing a machine gun, which he manufactured using a 3D printer.

Riley Griffy, 29, of Omaha, Nebraska, was sentenced by Chief United States District Judge Robert F. Rossiter, Jr. on April 15, 2021 for unlawfully possessing a machinegun.

According to court documents, Griffy sold a 3D printed conversion device that converted a semiautomatic Glock pistol into an automatic weapon on April 15, 2021. Griffy continued to illegally manufacture machineguns, which converted firearms into automatic weapons, until his arrest on June 2, 2021.
