Former ADT Security and Protection One Agent Sentenced for $502,353.99 Security System Contract Fraud
Wayne Williams, a 38-year-old man from River Ridge, has been sentenced to 24 months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of wire fraud. According to court records, Williams was responsible for selling security systems and services for ADT Security and Protection One, and negotiating customer contracts on behalf of the companies.
The scheme involved Williams forging customer signatures on contracts, leading to him receiving commissions from his employers without their knowledge. In one instance, Williams forged a customer’s signature on a $466,046.18 ADT Security equipment and installation services contract, while secretly executing a separate contract with the customer for only $109,148.93. He received approximately $73,576.72 in commissions from ADT Security.
In another instance, Williams forged a purported customer’s signature on an $80,240.48 Protection One equipment and installation services contract. He received approximately $2,353.99 in commissions from Protection One.
Williams was also ordered to pay $502,353.99 in restitution to his victims. The investigation was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with Assistant U.S. Attorney G. Dall Kammer handling the prosecution.
U.S. Attorney Kenneth A. Polite praised the work of the FBI in investigating this case, stating that their efforts helped bring Williams to justice.
