Robber Hits 2 Metro PCS Stores
A brazen robbery spree left two Metro PCS stores in Philadelphia reeling, and on Tuesday, authorities announced charges against the suspect.
Samuel Robinson, 29, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is accused of robbing the Metro PCS store at 6443 Frankford Avenue and the store at 4229 N. Broad Street, in Philadelphia on October 28, 2015.
According to the indictment, Robinson used a firearm during the robberies, and as a convicted felon, he is now facing additional charges of possession of a firearm.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation investigated the case, and Assistant United States Attorney Yvonne Osirim will be prosecuting the case.
Robinson faces a mandatory minimum term of 32 years in prison, with a maximum possible sentence of life, a possible fine, restitution, a $500 special assessment, and up to five years of supervised release if convicted.
An indictment is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
Robinson’s alleged crimes sent shockwaves through the community, and authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
