WHEELING, WEST VIRGINIA – A Groveport, Ohio man has been charged with distributing methamphetamine in Marshall County, according to law enforcement officials.
Robert L. Bruce, also known as “Miami,” 41, was indicted this week on one count of “Distribution of Methamphetamine” and one count of “Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine.” The crimes are alleged to have taken place in July and August 2021.
Bruce faces up to 20 years of incarceration and a fine of up to $1,000,000 for each count. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
The case was investigated by the Marshall County Drug Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative. Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn M. Adkins is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government.
It is worth noting that an indictment is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
