Sherwin Tracy Lewis, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Arizona 2022

A Laveen man has been sentenced to five years in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution ring.

Sherwin Tracy Lewis, 48, was sentenced by United States District Judge Douglas L. Rayes on October 31, 2022, to five years in prison, followed by four years of supervised release.

The Gila River Police Department and the Bureau of Indian Affairs conducted the investigation, which revealed that Lewis possessed 152 grams of methamphetamine within the confines of the Gila River Indian Community between June 7, 2021, and June 21, 2021.

Lewis pleaded guilty on April 28, 2022, to Possession with Intent to Distribute five grams or more of Actual Methamphetamine.

The case was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Raynette Logan, District of Arizona, Phoenix.

Lewis’s sentence marks the end of a lengthy investigation into methamphetamine distribution in the Gila River Indian Community.
