Robert Lindsay Swan, Firearm Charge, Pennsylvania 2022

HARRISBURG, PA – A 38-year-old Australian man has been indicted for possessing a firearm as a prohibited person, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Robert Lindsay Swan, of Australia, was indicted by a federal grand jury on February 23, 2022, for possessing a Walther Creed 9mm pistol on November 9, 2021, in York County.

According to United States Attorney John C. Gurganus, the indictment alleges that Swan possessed the firearm as a prohibited person due to unlawfully being in the United States.

The case was investigated by the Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the York Area Regional Police Department. Assistant U.S. Attorney Jaime M. Keating is prosecuting the case.

This case is being prosecuted as part of the joint federal, state, and local Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Program, which focuses on reducing violent crime.

Under federal law, if convicted, the maximum penalty for this offense is 10 years of imprisonment, a term of supervised release following imprisonment, and a fine.
