ALBANY, NEW YORK – In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Robert V. McLaughlin, a 58-year-old resident of Mechanicville, New York, was sentenced to 720 months in federal prison followed by a lifetime term of supervised release for producing child pornography.

The sentencing hearing took place on November 13, 2014, before the Honorable Mae A. D’Agostino at the U.S. District Court in Albany.

McLaughlin pleaded guilty to two counts of production of child pornography, a serious offense that involves the deliberate grooming and exploitation of innocent children for the purpose of producing visual depictions of their abuse.

The investigation into McLaughlin’s activities was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the New York State Police. The prosecution was led by Assistant United States Attorney Lisa M. Fletcher and Special Assistant United States Attorney Amanda W. Cox.
