A former bank employee has been sentenced to 6 months’ probation for embezzling funds from her employer. Robin Chiappetta, 63, of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, was convicted of embezzlement by a bank employee.
The embezzlement occurred between February 2014 and December 2016, during which time Chiappetta, who was employed as an Assistant Branch Manager at First National Bank, stole $20,513.80 from the bank. The funds were entrusted to the custody and care of the bank.
Senior United States District Judge Donetta W. Ambrose imposed the sentence on Chiappetta. Assistant United States Attorney Lee J. Karl prosecuted the case on behalf of the government.
United States Attorney Scott W. Brady commended the Federal Bureau of Investigation for the investigation leading to the successful prosecution of Chiappetta. The FBI’s investigation revealed that Chiappetta had been embezzling funds from the bank for several years.
