David Lee Fox, Coercion and Enticement of a Juvenile, VA 2024

ROANOKE, VA – In a grim revelation of online predation, David Lee Fox, 62, from Rocky Mount, Virginia, has pleaded guilty to enticement charges. The defendant, who targeted local teenagers through social media, faces at least two counts of coercion and enticement of a juvenile.

Fox, caught red-handed in his despicable endeavor, will be sentenced on April 11, 2017, with a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in federal prison.

The harrowing details of the case emerged during yesterday’s guilty plea hearing. In August 2015, Fox initiated contact with a 14-year-old girl, Victim A, via Facebook. Despite initial ignoring by the minor, the predator persisted in engaging her in explicit conversations and asking for personal photographs.

Victim A eventually confided in her parents, who reported the exchanges to law enforcement. Following an investigation, Fox was arrested on October 22, 2015, as he awaited a planned meeting with Victim A at Franklin County Baptist Church.

Prior to his arrest for attempting to meet Victim A, Fox had also been communicating with another minor female, Victim B. The defendant lied about his age and engaged in graphic conversations that included sexual acts, sending inappropriate images, and planning to meet the victim in person.

As law enforcement continues its relentless pursuit of online predators, the case against David Lee Fox serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of cyber exploitation and the importance of vigilance among parents and guardians.
