A Casa Blanca man has been sentenced to 7 years in prison for his role in a methamphetamine distribution ring.
According to authorities, Rolando Jesus Quintero, 33, was found in possession of 54 grams of methamphetamine and a .22 caliber rifle on February 17, 2021. The Gila River Indian Community member previously pleaded guilty to possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
Quintero was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Diane J. Humetewa to 7 years in prison, followed by 5 years of supervised release. The case was investigated by the FBI and the Gila River Police Department, with assistance from Assistant U.S. Attorney Raynette Logan in the prosecution.
The court documents reveal that Quintero was in possession of 54 grams of methamphetamine, a significant amount that could be used for distribution. The presence of a firearm also raises concerns about the potential for violence associated with methamphetamine trafficking.
The Gila River Indian Community has been plagued by methamphetamine-related crimes in recent years, with many community members falling victim to the scourge of addiction. The sentencing of Quintero is a step forward in the fight against methamphetamine distribution in the area.
As the war on methamphetamine continues, it’s essential to hold those responsible accountable for their actions. The sentence handed down to Quintero should serve as a deterrent to others who would engage in similar activities.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office, District of Arizona, has been working tirelessly to combat methamphetamine-related crimes in the region. This case is a testament to their commitment to keeping our communities safe.
