Tyheim Terry, Racketeering and Carjacking, New Jersey 2024

A member of the notorious Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips gang has been sentenced to 14.8 years in prison for his role in a racketeering conspiracy and related crimes.

Tyheim Terry, 25, also known as ‘Ty’ and ‘Rollin’ Ty,’ was handed the harsh sentence by U.S. District Judge Susan D. Wigenton in Newark federal court. Terry previously pleaded guilty to a superseding indictment that charged him with Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) conspiracy, carjacking, and brandishing a firearm in furtherance of the carjacking.

According to documents filed in the case and statements made in court, Terry was a member of the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips from 2015 through September 2022. During that time, the gang was responsible for acts of violence and the distribution of controlled substances in the District of New Jersey and elsewhere.

Terry was involved in multiple violent crimes, including a February 2021 attempt to carjack a victim, an April 2021 shooting of another victim, and an April 2021 carjacking of a third victim. In addition to the prison term, Judge Wigenton sentenced Terry to three years of supervised release.

U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger credited various law enforcement agencies, including the Drug Enforcement Administration, IRS – Criminal Investigation, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), for their role in the investigation that led to the charges in the Rollin’ 60s Neighborhood Crips case.

Terry’s case is part of an Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Forces (OCDETF) investigation, a prosecutor-led, intelligence-driven, multi-agency approach to identifying, disrupting, and dismantling high-level criminal organizations that threaten the United States.

The government is represented by Assistant U.S. Attorneys Francesca Liquori and Jake Nasar of the Special Prosecutions Division and the Organized Crime/Gangs Unit, respectively.
