Local Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Meth Conspiracy
A Faith, South Dakota man has been sentenced to 121 months in custody for his role in a methamphetamine conspiracy.
Roy Antrim, 40, was convicted of Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance and was sentenced on May 15, 2017, by U.S. District Judge Roberto A. Lange.
According to court documents, Antrim knowingly and intentionally conspired with others to distribute between 1.5 and 5 kilograms of methamphetamine, a Schedule II Controlled Substance, in South Dakota between September 2015 and June 2016.
Antrim admitted to receiving distributable quantities of methamphetamine and distributing it to others within South Dakota. He also admitted to possessing 14 firearms and having them in his possession while distributing methamphetamine.
Antrim was also involved in the distribution of methamphetamine with Kristina Lofton of Eagle Butte, South Dakota, who was convicted of conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and sentenced in January 2017.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Northern Plains Safe Trails Drug Enforcement Task Force. Assistant U.S. Attorney SaraBeth Donovan prosecuted the case.
Antrim was immediately turned over to the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
In addition to his prison sentence, Antrim was also ordered to pay a fine of $7,500 and forfeit $9,301 in U.S. currency and 14 firearms. He will also serve 5 years of supervised release after his prison term.
The case is a reminder of the ongoing fight against methamphetamine trafficking in our region.
