Rubin Perry, Possessing Child Pornography, Maine 2021

A Lubec man was sentenced to 10 years in prison for possessing child pornography, as reported in a federal court in Bangor, Maine.

The individual, Rubin Perry, 34, was found to have possessed multiple child pornography images on his cell phone.

Perry’s address in Lubec was identified through a Twitter user who was uploading and storing child pornography images and videos in 2018.

A search warrant was executed at Perry’s address, and he admitted to having a problem with child pornography and not knowing how to stop.

Perry also admitted to having child pornography on his cell phone, which contained multiple child pornography images.

U.S. District Judge John A. Woodcock, Jr. sentenced Perry to 10 years in prison and five years of supervised release, ordering him to pay $3,000 in restitution to a victim whose images he possessed.

Perry pleaded guilty on June 18, 2021. He had a 2013 Maine state conviction for possessing child pornography, which subjected him to a 10-year mandatory minimum sentence.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, the Maine State Police Computer Crimes Unit, and the Bangor Police Department.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
