CLARKSBURG, WEST VIRGINIA – A 64-year-old man has been brought to justice for his role in a methamphetamine distribution operation in Harrison County.

Russell Clark of Clarksburg, West Virginia, admitted to his involvement in the conspiracy, according to United States Attorney Bill Powell.

Clark pled guilty to one count of Aiding and Abetting Maintaining a Drug-Involved Premises and admitted to maintaining a residence on Winding Way in Clarksburg for the purpose of distributing methamphetamine in February 2018.

Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, Clark faces up to 20 years incarceration and a fine of up to $500,000. The actual sentence imposed will be based upon the seriousness of the offenses and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Zelda E. Wesley is prosecuting the case on behalf of the government. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives and the Greater Harrison Drug & Violent Crimes Task Force, a HIDTA-funded initiative, investigated the case.

The investigation was funded in part by the federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force Program (OCDETF). The OCDETF program supplies critical federal funding and coordination that allows federal and state agencies to work together to successfully identify, investigate, and prosecute major interstate and international drug trafficking organizations and other criminal enterprises.

U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Aloi presided over the case. Russell Clark will face the consequences of his actions and the citizens of West Virginia can rest a little easier knowing that a major player in the methamphetamine trade has been brought to justice.
