Ryan J. Brock, Production of Child Pornography, Kentucky 2017

A Covington man has been sentenced to 360 months in federal prison for producing child pornography. Ryan J. Brock, 34, was handed down the maximum sentence by United States District Judge David L. Bunning.

The investigation into Brock’s crimes began with the discovery of photographs and videos of the abuse of a minor relative. The abuse was recorded using a tablet device, which was later found to be missing from Brock’s residence. An empty box for the device was discovered in his vehicle, along with a laptop containing images and videos of the abuse.

Brock had previously pleaded guilty to the charge in December 2017. He must serve 85 percent of his prison sentence, and upon release, will be under the supervision of the United States Probation Office for 25 years.

The investigation was conducted by Homeland Security Investigations and the Covington Police Department. The United States was represented by Assistant United States Attorney Elaine K. Leonhard.

Robert M. Duncan, Jr., United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky; James M. Gibbons, Special Agent in Charge of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Chicago Field Office; and Chief Robert Nader, Covington Police Department, jointly announced the sentence.

Brock’s crimes are a stark reminder of the devastating impact of child pornography on its victims. The Covington Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations are to be commended for their tireless efforts in bringing Brock to justice.
