Rylin Turley, Child Pornography Transportation and Possession, New York 2024

In a disturbing case of child exploitation, Rylin Turley, a 25-year-old from Cleveland, New York, has been charged with transportation and possession of child pornography.

According to a grand jury indictment, Turley knowingly possessed and transported an iPhone containing child pornography upon entering the United States from Canada on August 3, 2024.

Rylin Turley faces a minimum of 5 years and up to 20 years in prison for the transportation count, as well as up to 20 years for possession of child pornography. He also faces a fine of up to $250,000, a term of supervised release of at least 5 years and up to life, and would be required to register as a sex offender. The defendant would also have to forfeit the device used to commit the crimes and pay restitution to victims.

The case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations, with assistance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the New York State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew J. McCrobie is prosecuting the case as part of Project Safe Childhood.

Project Safe Childhood, launched in May 2006, is a federal initiative aimed at combating child exploitation through the Internet. The program marshals resources from federal, state, and local agencies to locate, apprehend, and prosecute individuals who exploit children online, as well as identify and rescue victims.

Rylin Turley, a resident of Cleveland, New York, is accused of transporting and possessing child pornography, which is a serious crime. If convicted, the defendant faces significant penalties, including lengthy prison time and fines.
