Bhaskar’s crime was committed through text and email communications with an 11-year-old girl, with the intent of engaging in sexual activity. The communications led to the victim being enticed to engage in sexual activity with Bhaskar on August 11, 2018.

The investigation into Bhaskar’s crime was led by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, under the direction of Special Agent-in-Charge Gary Loeffert, and the Cheektowaga Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michael Sliwinski.

Bhaskar’s plea is a significant step in bringing justice to the victim and her family. The case serves as a reminder of the importance of online safety and the need for parents and guardians to be vigilant in monitoring their children’s online activities.

The sentencing for Bhaskar is scheduled for June 17, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. before Judge William M. Skretny.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Russell T. Ippolito, Jr., who handled the case, stated that the defendant’s actions were a serious breach of trust and a devastating experience for the victim.
