Sal Biscotto, Heroin Trafficking Conspiracy, Pennsylvania 2014

A Pittston man has been sentenced to 41 months in prison for his role in a heroin trafficking conspiracy in Luzerne County.

Sr. U.S. District Court Judge Edwin M. Kosik handed down the sentence to Sal Biscotto, 38, on February 11, 2015, after he pleaded guilty to conspiring with others to distribute heroin in the area from 2010 to February 2014.

The investigation into the heroin trafficking ring was led by special agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Biscotto was charged in a Criminal Information filed by the United States Attorney on October 7, 2014.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, Biscotto must also serve three years of supervised release following his prison sentence and pay a $100 special assessment.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Francis P. Sempa prosecuted the case.

The exact dates of the heroin trafficking conspiracy were from 2010 through February 2014, during which time Biscotto conspired with others to distribute heroin in Luzerne County. The heroin trafficking ring was investigated by the FBI.

The Pittston man, Sal Biscotto, was sentenced to 41 months in prison, which is equivalent to approximately 3.42 years. He will also serve three years of supervised release and pay a $100 special assessment.
