A Kingston man has been sentenced to 48 months behind bars for his role in a cocaine distribution ring in Luzerne County.
Thomas Ceprish, 32, of Kingston, pleaded guilty to distributing cocaine on numerous occasions between 2008 and April 2, 2013, according to the United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
According to court documents, Ceprish obtained cocaine in Wilkes-Barre for distribution to others in the Luzerne County area.
On June 18, 2014, Ceprish appeared in federal court and pleaded guilty to the charge.
In addition to the 48-month term of imprisonment, Senior United States District Court Judge A. Richard Caputo ordered that Ceprish be placed under the supervision of the United States Probation Office for a period of three years following the service of his prison sentence.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation; the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office; and the Luzerne County District Attorney’s Office. Assistant United States Attorney John Gurganus prosecuted the case.
Ceprish’s sentence and supervision will come after he serves his 48-month prison term, according to the terms of the court.
Ceprish’s case serves as a reminder of the ongoing efforts to combat cocaine trafficking in Pennsylvania.
