Twenty-five Suspects Indicted for Conspiracy to Distribute Controll…

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina has dropped a bombshell on the drug underworld, announcing a 49-count federal indictment against twenty-five suspects in and around Sampson County for their alleged roles in a massive drug trafficking operation. The suspects face charges ranging from Conspiracy to Distribute Controlled Substances to Money Laundering and Firearm offenses.

Among those named in the indictment are Antonio Kevin McKoy, 30, of Garland, NC; James Daniel McKoy, 51, also of Garland; Bryant Douglas Carr, 37, from Roseboro; and Andrekia Jolanda Parker, 23, of Garland. The charges stem from a Title III wiretap investigation that has been meticulously pieced together by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, and several other law enforcement agencies.

According to the indictment, the defendants are alleged to have been part of a violent drug trafficking organization operating in and around Sampson County. The charges and allegations contained in the Indictment are merely accusations, and the defendants are considered innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.

This case is being investigated as a federal Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) criminal matter. The ATF, along with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, Internal Revenue Service Criminal Investigation, Jacksonville Police Department, Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, U.S. Probation Office, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and North Carolina Departments of Revenue and Emergency Management, have all contributed to this extensive investigation.

The defendants, whose ages range from 23 to 55 and whose cities are spread across Sampson County and beyond, now face a grueling legal battle that could lead to lengthy prison sentences if they are found guilty.
