Samuel Terwilliger Sentenced to 12 Years in Prison for Child Sex Trafficking
A 26-year-old man from Calicoon, New York, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.
Samuel Terwilliger, a resident of Calicoon, NY, was sentenced on October 22, 2014, by U.S. District Court Judge Vincent Briccetti.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Terwilliger pleaded guilty to attempting to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity in August 2013. He was arrested on April 10, 2014, after the FBI executed a search warrant at his residence.
During the investigation, Terwilliger admitted to engaging in sexually-explicit conversations with a girl whom he believed to be approximately 13 years old. He also admitted to planning to bring her to stay with him and his girlfriend because he wanted to have sex with her and impregnate her.
Terwilliger was also sentenced to 5 years’ supervised release to follow the imprisonment. The prosecution was handled by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York, with Assistant United States Attorney Marcia S. Cohen in charge of the prosecution.
