Santony Markies Noland, Methamphetamine Distribution, Alabama 2017

A federal grand jury in Alabama indicted 10 individuals for their roles in a methamphetamine and cocaine trafficking conspiracy. The indictment, which charges the defendants with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine, includes special findings regarding the amount of methamphetamine and cocaine attributable to each defendant.

The indictment names Santony Markies Noland, Shakea Chyneese Prewitt, Christopher Kelley Boyd, Michele Diane Smith, Timothy Joe Patton, Katherine Lee Cannon, Tremaine Raymond Cannon, Danny Ray Barron Jr., Beverly Diane Tubbs, and Amy Leeann Blizzard.

Noland, Prewitt, Boyd, and the Cannons are charged with conspiring to traffic 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, a charge that carries a minimum 10-year prison sentence and a maximum prison penalty of life. Noland and the Cannons, having previously been convicted in state and federal court for drug trafficking, could face a minimum of 20 years and a maximum of life in prison if convicted on the current charges.

Smith, Patton, and Barron face a minimum of five years in prison and a maximum of 40 years on the conspiracy count. Noland and Prewitt are also charged with multiple counts of distributing methamphetamine, which carries a minimum prison sentence of five years and a maximum of 40, plus a $5 million fine. Other counts charge Noland and Prewitt with possession with the intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, which carries a sentence of 10 years to life in prison.

Boyd also faces a separate count of distributing methamphetamine in February 2017. Tremaine Cannon and Katherine Cannon face a count of possessing with the intent to distribute or distributing methamphetamine, in February 2017. The indictment further charges Smith with possessing with the intent to distribute methamphetamine in February 2017.

As of the reporting date, nine of the 10 defendants are in custody. This includes Noland, who was in custody prior to today’s roundup.

The investigation, which was conducted by the ATF and the West Alabama Narcotics Task Force, resulted in the arrests of the defendants, who are charged with participating in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and cocaine in the Tuscaloosa area.
