Atlanta Promoter Guilty in Ecstasy Conspiracy

In a shocking turn of events, Woodie Louis Ochle, a 40-year-old Atlanta man and co-owner of Freakstep Promotions, pleaded guilty to a conspiracy to distribute thousands of MDMA pills in Alabama and Georgia.

According to the plea agreement, Ochle orchestrated the distribution of the illicit substance during his musical events across the Southeast. His organization, Freakstep Promotions, presented concerts and dance events in Jefferson and Shelby counties between February 2015 and April 2016.

As part of his scheme, Ochle would sell MDMA to attendees of his events, often disguised as Ecstasy or Molly. The investigation revealed that Ochle’s operation also extended to other cities in Alabama and Georgia.

Acting U.S. Attorney Robert O. Posey, along with other law enforcement officials, announced the plea. The investigation involved U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-HSI, U.S. Postal Inspection Service, ALEA, Alabama Attorney General’s Office, and the Helena Police.

Ochle’s sentencing date has not been set. However, four other individuals have already pleaded guilty to the conspiracy: Kevin Reid Pedersen, 28; Shawn Edward Perkins, 22; Jennifer Leigh Petitjean, 31, all of Birmingham; and Kenton Lee Howard, 38, of Chelsea.

The guilty plea marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against illicit drug distribution in the Southeast. As law enforcement continues to crack down on these operations, the community can rest a little easier knowing that those responsible will face justice.

Woodie Louis Ochle’s actions have serious consequences, not only for himself but also for the individuals who fell victim to his scheme. As we move forward, it is essential to prioritize public safety and hold perpetrators accountable for their crimes.
