A former postal carrier in Florida has been charged with theft of mail, a federal crime.
Sara Brady, a 47-year-old woman from Satsuma, was arrested on January 18, 2023 by the United States Postal Service – Office of Inspector General.
According to the indictment, Brady was a postal carrier in St. Johns County when she allegedly stole mail from her route. If convicted, she faces up to 5 years in federal prison and payment of restitution to the victims in the case.
An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.
This case was investigated by the United States Postal Service – Office of Inspector General. It will be prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney David B. Mesrobian.
