CLEVELAND, Ohio – A Cleveland man is facing federal charges for allegedly using violence to take a car.
Shairon L. Motley-Lipscomb, 21, was charged with carjacking, according to a U.S. Attorney’s office press release. The crime allegedly occurred on May 14 this year.
On that day, Motley-Lipscomb allegedly used violence to take a 2008 Buick Enclave.
The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Karrie D. Howard following an investigation by the Cleveland Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.
An indictment is only a charge and is not evidence of guilt. A defendant is entitled to a fair trial in which it will be the government’s burden to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.
