A 46-year-old Poplar Bluff, Missouri, resident has been sentenced to 35 years in prison for a heinous crime committed in the Dunklin County Jail.
Shederic Anderson was found guilty of two counts of aggravated sexual abuse in November 2019. The charges stem from a 2018 incident where Anderson sexually assaulted another inmate while in custody at the Dunklin County Jail.
The assault occurred on an unspecified date, but Anderson was arrested and detained in the Dunklin County Jail after escaping from the Cydkam Center in Neelyville, Missouri, on July 26, 2018. Anderson had signed out of the facility to go to work but never returned.
The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Assistant United States Attorney Keith Sorrell handled the prosecution for the government.
