A horrific machete assault sent a Great Falls, Montana man to prison, according to court documents.
Shem Abram Killsnight, 42, pleaded guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon on October 19, 2020. The assault occurred on June 4, 2019, at the victim’s residence on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Browning, Montana.
The victim, identified as an individual other than Shem Abram Killsnight, sought medical treatment for a wound to his hand after Killsnight swung a machete at him, allegedly while under the influence of methamphetamine.
Killsnight was sentenced to one year and one day in prison and to two years of supervised release by Chief U.S. District Judge Brian M. Morris. He was ordered to self-report to prison.
The case was investigated by the FBI and Blackfeet Law Enforcement Services, with Assistant U.S. Attorneys Kalah Paisley and Cassady Adams prosecuting the case.
