Souderton Man Charged With Illegal Reentry
A 22-year-old Souderton man is facing serious consequences for allegedly violating U.S. immigration laws. Irving Cruz-Sermeno, also known as Irving Cruz, Irving Miuricio Cruz, Irving Mauricio Cerden Cruz, and Irvining Miuricio Cruz, was charged today by Indictment with one count of illegal reentry after deportation.
According to court documents, Cruz-Sermeno, a native and citizen of Guatemala, was found in the United States after having been deported from the country on February 24, 2011. His return to the U.S. allegedly occurred on April 9, 2013, sparking the indictment.
U.S. Attorney Zane David Memeger announced the charges against Cruz-Sermeno, which carry a maximum possible sentence of twenty years if convicted.
The case was investigated by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Enforcement and Removal Operations (“ERO”) and is being prosecuted by Special Assistant United States Attorney Mark T. Sendek.
Cruz-Sermeno’s alleged actions have sparked concerns about immigration enforcement and the consequences of violating U.S. laws. As the investigation unfolds, it remains to be seen how this case will impact the community and the nation’s immigration policies.
