ST. LOUIS –In a gritty turn of events, 35-year-old St. Louis man Timothy Carter admitted to receiving drugs shipped to the city and mailing out the proceeds from drug sales.
Carter, charged with one felony count of conspiracy to distribute and possess fentanyl with intent to distribute, pleaded guilty alongside his co-defendant A.D. Harris, who previously confessed in December.
The investigation began when a suspicious package arrived at an address on Allemania Street in St. Louis, shipped in a microwave retail box. Carter’s home became the drop-off point for these illegal goods.
Further scrutiny led to the discovery of a microwave containing $28,500 in drug proceeds mailed from St. Louis to Texas, with fingerprints linking Harris and Carter to the scheme.
Harris attempted to evade law enforcement by speeding to Carter’s residence, where both men were arrested following a high-speed chase. Agents seized a vehicle, $11,000, devices, and evidence of drug transactions.
Carter is set for sentencing on September 30, with Harris having already served an 87-month sentence. The U.S. Postal Inspection Service, Homeland Security Investigations, and the FBI played pivotal roles in this investigation.
