St. Louis Sex Offender Pleads Guilty to Child Pornography Charges

ST. LOUIS – In a chilling revelation, Alimayo R. Darden, a 33-year-old registered sex offender from St. Louis, Missouri, has pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to three felony counts of possession of child pornography.

Darden’s dark descent into criminality was exposed on May 11 when probation officers, conducting an unannounced home visit, discovered unauthorized cell phones, USB drives, and other electronic devices filled with at least 10 videos containing child pornography. The discovery came after Darden attempted to hide the items from the probation officers.

The saga of Darden’s criminal history dates back to 2016 when he pleaded guilty to one count of receiving child pornography and four counts of possession of child pornography. He was subsequently sentenced to six years and eight months in prison and placed on supervised release for life.

Today, Darden is scheduled to be sentenced once again on May 16, facing a potential sentence of 10 to 20 years in prison. Both sides have agreed to recommend a 10-year sentence.

The investigation was conducted by the U.S. Probation Office, with Assistant U.S. Attorney Carrie Costantin prosecuting the case. This incident is part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
