A Starkville man is headed to prison for 15 years for his role in distributing methamphetamine in the area.
Chad Boyd, also known as Chadrick Robinson, 41, of Starkville, was sentenced Thursday by U.S. District Judge Michael P. Mills to 180 months in prison for distributing 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Boyd’s sentence also includes 5 years of supervised release following his prison term. He was remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshals following his sentencing hearing.
The charges against Boyd stem from an investigation by the FBI and the Starkville Police Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Mims.
U.S. Attorney Clay Joyner praised the work of law enforcement in bringing Boyd to justice, saying, ‘Individuals who choose to spend their time selling meth and other illegal drugs in the Northern District of Mississippi should know that this office and our law enforcement partners will do all we can to see that they are removed from the community and sent to prison.’
FBI Special Agent in Charge Robert A. Eikhoff added, ‘The sentencing of Mr. Chad Boyd, for the distribution of methamphetamine, underscores the positive impacts law enforcement has on the communities affected by the drug crisis.’
Boyd’s case is a reminder that law enforcement is committed to removing drug dealers from the community and bringing them to justice.
