St. Louis Man Admits to Making False Statements to the U.S. Navy
A 46-year-old man from St. Louis has pleaded guilty to making false statements to the U.S. Navy review board.
Stephen R. Fuller, a St. Louis resident, admitted to fabricating deployments and exaggerating the length and circumstances of his prior deployments between 2016 and 2017 while stationed in St. Louis as a reservist.
The false statements were made while Fuller was evaluating his claims for disability and retirement benefits.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Fuller appeared before Judge John A. Ross, who accepted his plea and set his sentencing hearing for February 28, 2019.
The case was investigated by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS) – Economic Crimes Unit.
