MUSKOGEE, OKLAHOMA – In a shocking turn of events, Steve Earl Perry Jr., a 26-year-old man from Okmulgee, Oklahoma, has pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, in violation of Title 18, United States Code, Sections 922(g)(1), 924(a)(2) and 924(e). This egregious crime carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

According to court documents, on or about November 14, 2016, Perry Jr. knowingly possessed a firearm that had been shipped and transported in interstate commerce, despite having been previously convicted of a crime punishable by imprisonment for a term exceeding one year.
The investigation into Perry Jr.’s illicit activities was led by the District 25 District Attorney’s Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
Perry Jr. will remain in custody pending a sentencing hearing, where the Honorable Steven P. Shreder, Magistrate Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, will determine his fate.
Assistant United States Attorney Dean Burris represented the United States in this case.
