David Alhaqq, 56, of Stockton, has been locked away for five years after being sentenced for the heinous crime of distributing cocaine base. The grim reality was announced by U.S. Attorney McGregor W. Scott today in Sacramento.
The sentence comes after Alhaqq pleaded guilty on January 3. Court documents reveal a chilling detail: In November 2016, a confidential source conducted a controlled buy with Alhaqq, purchasing six ounces of cocaine base from the criminal in Lodi. The transaction took an eerie turn when Alhaqq retrieved a white box from an unidentified third-party before handing it over to the confidential source for $6,000.
The contents of that white box were no ordinary items; they were approximately six ounces of crack cocaine. The investigation leading to this conviction was a collaborative effort between the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Stockton Safe Streets Task Force, and the Stockton Police Department. Special assistance was provided by the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office.
