Susen Ann Gorst, Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine, Washington 2025

A 37-year-old Yakima woman has been sentenced to 57 months in prison after violating her probation terms. Susen Ann Gorst, 37, was sentenced by Chief United States District Judge Stanley A. Bastian on October 21, 2025.

The court imposed the sentence following Gorst’s multiple probation violations. On April 30, 2024, Gorst was initially sentenced to thirty-six months of probation for her guilty plea to Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine. However, she failed to report to her probation officer as directed on August 15, 2024, and was found to have previously consumed controlled substances.

Gorst also failed to submit to random drug testing. Her probation was revoked, and she was re-sentenced to 57 months imprisonment. On July 7, 2025, Gorst was arrested by the Toppenish Police Department, and on July 9, 2025, she was discovered in possession of controlled substances while in detention.

Following evidentiary hearings on August 12, 2025, and October 6, 2025, Chief Judge Bastian sentenced Gorst on October 21, 2025. The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, and Assistant United States Attorney Michael Murphy prosecuted the case.

The sentencing reflects the efforts to hold individuals accountable who refuse to comply with conditions of probation. United States Attorney Pete Serrano noted that Gorst was given a unique opportunity with a probationary sentence but instead chose to ignore community values and the Court’s trust.

Methamphetamine traffickers like Gorst pose a significant threat to the health and safety of communities. David F. Reames, Special Agent in Charge, DEA Seattle Field Division, stated that Gorst forfeited her second chance by ignoring community values and now must pay the price.

The 1:22-CR-2084-SAB case highlights the consequences of violating probation terms. Gorst’s sentence serves as a reminder of the importance of adhering to the conditions of probation.
