Synthetic Drug Kingpins Brought Down in Nationwide Takedown
ALBUQUERQUE – In a sweeping operation that spanned the nation, federal and local authorities have dismantled a massive synthetic drug ring with ties to New Mexico, netting multiple arrests and seizures of illicit substances.
At a press conference scheduled for Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 2:00 P.M. at the U.S. Attorney’s Office, officials will detail the role of New Mexico law enforcement in the nationwide synthetic drug takedown.
U.S. Attorney Kenneth J. Gonzales, Joseph M. Arabit, Special Agent in Charge, El Paso Division of the DEA, and other federal, state, and local law enforcement officials will address the media and provide insight into the operation.
The press conference is expected to shed light on the scope of the synthetic drug problem in New Mexico and the efforts of law enforcement to combat it.
